Realizing when dreams come true
October 27, 2022We all have goals, dreams and aspirations we want to achieve.
We make a plan and do our best to make them a reality.
As a full-time freelance photographer and film director, you may think my goals have always focused on my professional career. But the reality is, I’ve always had a clear image of another goal I wanted to fulfill– Motherhood.
In 2019, my husband and I visited Paris for the first time, and we accidentally stumbled across Parc Monceau. Through years of hard work, we finally had the opportunity to make the trip a reality.
While I was at Parc Monceau taking it all in, I felt like I climbed a mountain, and I wanted a second mountain to climb already when I was at the top.
During my time at the park I realized having a family was another dream I needed to come true.
I saw myself pushing a stroller through the Parisian streets and sharing this experience with my children. I had never even come close to encountering something like this in my life.
My husband and I had been trying to have kids of our own. Unfortunately, like most dreams, they included obstacles, twists, and turns in order to reach them. A miscarriage halted my dream of forming a family.
It was during the Paris trip, at Parc Monceau, where the beauty, the heritage, and warmness of the park sparked my desire to return once again but as a mother.
It took a lot of work to get to Paris for the first time. I don’t know why I dared to dream of coming back, but I really felt like I wanted to push myself.
Three years later, my dream would no longer be something I imagined.
To celebrate 10 years of marriage and my daughter Leona’s first birthday, my husband and I decided the best way to honor this accomplishment was by returning to Parc Monceau.
I made a goal to come back to this place, and I’m here to say that goals and dreams really can come true.
Our careers are shaped by our personal goals, and as women and entrepreneurs, we should learn to recognize and accommodate them.
